Acktivism Recordings was created in 2006 with the aim of giving new artists a chance to take the big leap into the modern recording industry.

A few years before the boom of digital music sales, Junior Lopez, who had already been a part of several labels, decided to join one of the most important electronic music online distributor: Beatport.com

With experience in the magement of labels, and knowing that technology, especially in this field, would grow fast, he decided to launch this new project with his partner and colleague Hernan Herrera -prolific music and dj from the city of Barcelona with whom he shares musical tastes and in which he found a perfect partner when it comes to work for the growing of the label.

This small project has been very fruitful, thanks to the quality, effort, teamwork and above all thanks to the artists.

AR has the support of DJ's such as Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier, Paco Osuna, Tim Xavier, Marco Carola, Layo & Bushwaka to name a few, plus some of their tracks have been several times in the tops sales at Beatport.com.

But above all these achievements, the accomplishment of the main objective of the label from the beginning, is the pride of its creators. To introduce artists in which they believe, to see how far they have come, earning the respect of great artists in addition to the success of their music. That is the reason why they continue with this project, providing new generations the possibility of having a place where to Acktivate their art.
